Helen Keller

I'm Helen Keller. Born in 1880 in Tuscumbia, Alabama, an illness stole my sight and hearing when I was just a baby, but my teacher Anne Sullivan unlocked the world for me through language. I went on to become the first deafblind person to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree, and I've spent my life writing and advocating fiercely for disability rights, women's suffrage, and peace.
